4. Daniel2 Hayes (George1)(28) was born in Windsor, CT April 26, 1686. Daniel died September 23, 1756 Salmon Brook, Simsbury (now Granby), CT, at 70 years of age.
He married twice. He married Martha Holcombe Simsbury, Hartford, CT, March 1, 1716. Martha was born February 15, 1701. (Additional notes for Martha Holcombe(29)) Martha died January 9, 1717 Simsbury, Harrford, CT, at 15 years of age. Seaver shows Martha as a dau. of Lieut. Nathaniel (b. 1673) but McCracken shows her as dau of Nathaniel (b. 1648). but both agree that she was great-great grandmother of President Rutherford B. Hayes.
Stiles lists Martha as the 4th child of Lt. Nathaniel without a birthdate. He quotes Simsbury Redbook.
