ANCESTRY.COM 14 Aug 2000 Database: THE PIONEERS OF MASSACHUSETTS, WHITCOMB, John, planter, may be the Mr. W. who was to see the leather discharged at Salem in 1629. [Suff. De. I, xix.] Dorchester, planter; propr. 1636-9; rem. to Scituate; suit in court, 1639; atba. 1643; frm. 3 June, 1652. He res. at Lancaster about 1652. He petitioned 28 (10) 1658, being weak and aged, to be excused from paying Stephen Gates for swine killed by three of his sons. [Mdx. Files.] He d. April 6, 1683. Inv. of his est. was taken 26 April, 1683.
