THOMAS CHASE lived in Hundrich, Buckinghamshire, England; m. name unknown; and had Richard CHASE of Chesham County, England; b. 3d August, 1542, m. 16th April, 1564, John BISHOP, and had ten children of whom Aquila was the fifth. Aquila CHASE m. probably Martha JELLIMAN, and had Aquila CHASE, Mariner of Newbury, Massachusetts, b. circa 1618, in England; d. 29th December, 1670; came from Cornwall, England, and settled first at Hampton, Massachusetts, 1640, and in Newbury, Massachusetts, 1646; he was probably the first of this branch of the CHASE family in America; m. Ann WHEELER, b. 1620, d. 21st April, 1687, dau. of John and Ann (GODFREY) WHEELER, she m. (2d) 14th June, 1672, Daniel MISSILAWAY; John WHEELER came to New England from Salisbury, England, 1634.
