"(I.) John Lawrence settled in Watertown probably in 1635 as his eldest child was born there 14 Mar 1635/1636. His name is on the earliest list of proprietors extant, and he was adm freeman 17 Apr 1637. The date of his arrival in Americal has not been ascertained nor is it known whether he was married before or after his arrival. Nothing has yet been ascertained from Americanrecords or archives with respect to his parentage or ancestry...
p820: "...Children:
15.2.1. John b 14 Mar 1635/1636. He is not mentioned in his father's Will, and it might therefore be concluded trhat hewas deceased and without issue. But it is to be observed that he does not mention his son Peleg nor his daus Abigail and Susanna, who are known to have been then living. We shall assume that he was then living until there is some evidence to disprove it and that he had a family...
2.15.(II.) John Lawrence m Abt 1657 Susanna and lived probably in Charlestown. 'He is named on the list of those who paid county rate.' His Inventory amounting to L160 8s was taken 17 Jun 1670 by John Pentecost and John Burrage. It included 1 shallop, L40, house and wharf, L90. His wid Susanna m in Charlestown 15 Aug 1676 Thomas Tarball Sr. He d previous to 1680/1681, for Wid Susanna Tarball was adm to Charlestown Church 6 Mar 1680/1681..."

"(2) I. John, (2d Generation,) b. March 14, 1636, m. about 1657, and lived probably in Charlestown. He is named in the list of those who paid their `countie rate'."

"...John Lawrence baptized at Wisset Oct 8, 1609; came to New England in 1630, and settled at Watertown. In 1662 he removed to Groton, where he died July 11, 1667, aged 58. He is named in a deposition of his brother Robert, dated 1639, as of New England...Elizabeth first wife died at Groton, Aug. 29, 1663... son John Lawrence of Charlestown born March14, 1636..."
