Reginald of Dunstanville, a natural son of Henry I, appeared there in the interest of his sister, who imitating the methods of Stephen, created him, at this time or a little later, Earl of Cornwall; but his rule was unwise and Stephen advancing in person had no difficulty in recovering the country..."
