Dear Family and Friends,
On June 2, 2002, I will be running my first marathon in San Diego, CA on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. I will be doing this for people who are close and dear to my heart, and for those I've never met.
This, my first marathon, is in honor of my father, Alexander, who was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in 1999 at the age of 58. He lives in Moscow, Russia, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and blood transfusions. I was hoping that he might be able to come to the US and see the race, but his health is declining quickly and I will be leaving to visit him on February 14th...
